Summary edit
DescriptionApproach to Ford Village - geograph.org.uk - 1237498.jpg |
English: Approach to Ford Village Entering Ford from the southwest. The 13th-century Parish Church, St Michael and All Angels, is Welsh-slated and has a two-tier bellcote. It was restored in the early 1850s by Newcastle architect John Dobson. Ford Castle is on the left - Sir William Heron was granted licence to crenellate in 1383, but records of a castle here go back to 1287. The present central part, by David Bryce, dates from the early 1860s. |
