Description

In many ways Cove Harbour would be the ideal place to end the Southern Upland Way. However its private property and has no legal right of way, and indeed the SUW doesn't go to it at all.

However visitors are welcome. Access on my visit was, however, tricky. There is a road down but that's dangerous according to the sign, and the gate was locked. But the footpath access was closed because the steps had collapsed and were busy being overgrown by blackberry bushes.

In the end I had to climb over the gate, and do some really dangerous shuffling down a narrow ledge in order to get down there. And frankly that was probably the most dangerous option but the only one I could do.
