English: Aqueduct from Loch Katrine to Glasgow This 35 mile aqueduct, opened by Queen Victoria in 1859,bringing 50 million gallons of water daily greatly contributed to health in the city. Whereas in a previous outbreak of cholera there were 4,000 deaths in 1865/66 only 53 died. |
