Description

O Aqueduto da Água da Prata, habitualmente denominado por aqueduto de Évora convida a um percurso a pé, em comunhão com a natureza.

O Aqueduto da Água da Prata foi durante muitos anos a principal fonte de abastecimento de água à Cidade.

Tendo sido alvo de obras de restauro, o caminho encontra-se agora limpo, sinalizado e com bons acessos para que, caminheiros ou ciclistas, possam percorrer o Aqueduto entre Évora e a Graça do Divor.

Esta iniciativa da Câmara Municipal de Évora coloca à disposição da população um percurso ambiental de seis quilómetros sempre junto à mais importante estrutura hidráulica construída em Portugal durante o séc. XVI, podendo não só apreciar-se a obra do Homem, mas também encantar-se com a paisagem envolvente, invulgarmente bela e diversificada. Além da arcaria monumental, classificada como Monumento Nacional (1910), o Aqueduto é uma imensa obra com cerca de 19 km de extensão, desde a nascente do Divor até ao interior da cidade.

Dessa distância total o percurso ambiental agora criado recupera o essencial da obra do séc. XVI e do séc.
