Description
English: Arabian Nights Images - Lacy Hussar

Lacy Hussar get credit for the illustations in this edition of The Arabian Nights' Entertainments published by Houghton Mifflin Company copyright 1921 and 1929.

The bad news is, I only found 4 illustrations in the entire 350-page book. The good news is, they're lovely color plates, and they inlude Morgiana dancing, which is the one I show here. Her costume looks more in-period for the artist than for the story, but it's cool in any case. This pic is captioned "After she had danced several dances with much grace, she drew the poniard." I figure that must be the robber captain at the right; he looks pretty nasty.
