Description
English: A radial thin section of the Araucarioxylon texense holotype showing wood. "Fig. 64.-Radial section; detail of pitting . The wood is not charred and so its preservation leaves much to be desired, but on the tracheid to the left of center the alternating and distinctive araucarian

pitting is clearly shown."

Cretaceous (Comanchean), 127-99.6 +/- 0.9 mya, Glen Rose Formation, 1 mile (1.6 km) south of Cottondale, Texas
