Summary

edit
Description
English: Archdeacon-Woodlocke coat-of-arms at Rothe House (second courtyard). James Archdeacon is represented on the left with three chevrons and a fleur-de-lis; Katherine Woodlocke is represented on the right with one chevron and three lions. The stone is dated 1636, but a later descendant has added his initials M.A. and the year 1727. The stone was once part of the Archdeacon residence at the corner of Irishtown and Dean Street, now demolished. James Archdeacon/ Archdekin was mayor of Kilkenny in 1649.
