in mind, the Structural Engineers Asso-ciation of Northern California has agreed to furnisha roster of its organization to every building in-spector in every community, for all communitiesfrom Bakersfield to Chico inclusive, and we expectto form a committee of one or more members ofour Association to contact the building inspectorin each community to the end that they too willbe the nucleus of a Committee for disaster reliefin each community. The principal thought in the mind of the Com-mittee is to make the office of the building inspec-tor a rallying point where all available structuralengineers will attempt to meet or send in notifica-tion of their whereabouts. This program, of course, could not be carriedout without the cooperation of the building inspec-tors, so the matter was taken up with the CentralDistrict Organization of the Pacific Coast Buildingofficials Conference who have enthusiasticallyagreed to cooperate to the fullest extent with the (See Page 33) DECEMBER, 194 7 17
