Description

After the Argentinian invasion of the Falkland Islands "Las Malvinas" in 1982 this aircraft (A-522) was captured by British forces at Port Stanley Airfield and returned to the United Kingdom.

It later made it's way to the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton where I saw it in 1983 (I think). Since 1994 it has been on display at the North East Aircraft Museum at Sunderland.

The Pucara is an Argentine ground-attack and counter-insurgency aircraft manufactured by the Fábrica Militar de Aviones. 110 were built during the period 1974-1993.
