Description Army Corps of Engineers Project Manager Dan Falt describes particulars of the ongoing Rockaway Beach renourishment work at a press conference with local partners including Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York City and NYC Parks Commissioner Veronica White at the Beach 97th Street Boardwalk Island at Rockaway Beach August 15, 2013 announcing the start of sand placement activities at Rockaway and announcing the award of a contract for additional sand placement activities. Post-Sandy sand placement activities are underway at Rockaway Beach in Queens, NY as part of a project placing roughly 3.5 million cubic yards onto the beach to help reduce risks from future storms.
