Description
English: Photo taken at the Arquebus War History Museum (Norwegian: Arquebus Krigshistorisk Museum) 10 km east of the city of Haugesund, Norway.
  • VW Typ 82 Kübelwagen, a German military light utility vehicle built by Volkswagen during World War II for use by the Nazi German military (both Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS).
  • Display cases with mannequins dressed in German uniforms used by a Wehrmacht soldier during the German invasion in April 1940 and by a Norwegian volunteer front fighter (Norwegian: frontkjempere) in the Waffen-SS on the Eastern Front later in the war, along with swastika flags (both national Jack flag and Reich War Flag). To the right is a glass case with information and items related to the Nasjonal Samling (NS), Quisling's Norwegian Nazi party before and during the war.
The Arquebus War Museum highlights Nazi Germany's occupation of Norway during the Second World War from 1940 to 1945. The museum showcases exhibits and dioramas on military equipment, actions, and daily life in Norway and the Rogaland region through 6,000 artifacts displayed across 2,000 square meters.
