English: Representantes dos governos municipal e estadual e do setor empresarial da cidade conheceram no dia 22/08/2011, em evento na Fiemg, o projeto da Catedral Cristo Rei. Elaborado por Oscar Niemeyer, o projeto prevê um grande templo e uma praça externa, com capacidade para 20 mil pessoas nas duas áreas, na avenida Cristiano Machado, bairro Juliana, região Norte. A catedral será a sede definitiva da Arquidiocese Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte e reunirá todas as pastorais, os meios de comunicação e o Me­morial Arquidiocesano.
