Description

O Arquivo Municipal de Penamacor está instalado no ex-quartel militar de Penamacor ocupando um espaço de recepção e limpeza, um de depósito e dois gabinetes de tratamento técnico, sendo que um deles é também um espaço para leitura.

É um serviço da Câmara Municipal de Penamacor que tem vindo a ser estruturado e implementado desde 2004.

O Arquivo reúne documentação maioritariamente dos séculos XIX e XX que se encontrava dispersa por vários locais da vila, permitindo assim a salvaguarda do património arquivístico existente procedente dos vários serviços municipais.

No que respeita à documentação, ela é de natureza administrativa e histórica.

A documentação mais antiga: Testamentos e Legados Pios (1615); Livro do Tombo Velho e Novo (1777); Livros de Actas de sessão de Câmara (1801); Arrematações (1812); Livros de Acórdãos (1813); Expostos (1813); Actividades Económicas (1813); Receita e Despesa (1820); Contencioso Fiscal (1822); Justiça (1837); Correspondência (1839); Eleições (1852); Funções Militares (1856); Assistência à Maternidade (1865).

Da antiga câmara municipal de Bemposta: Cartas Régias (1823-1826); Livro de Autos (1826-1836).
