Français : Arrivée de Léopold Ier à la frontière belge, La Panne, le 17 juillet 1831. — Le 16 juillet 1831, le prince Léopold embarque à Douvres sur le yacht Crusader, à destination du continent. Il est accueilli à Calais par le Premier ministre de France à Bruxelles. Le 17 juillet 1831, il arrive en calèche à La Panne, par la plage de Dunkerque. Il est solennellement accueilli, avant de continuer le voyage vers Laeken, en passant par Furnes, Ostende, Bruges, Gand et Alost. Le monument sur l’esplanade Léopold Ier à La Panne symbolise la porte par laquelle le premier roi des Belges est entré en Belgique. |
