English: For the sake of argument, let's consider me an artist. I know that is a bit of wishful thinking, but play along for now.
Art can have many purposes. It can be emotive, inspiring, entertaining and even whimsical. Art is also often a part of activism. To many artists, change is the highest goal that art can reach. Here is the sign near the Church Street entrance to the St. Catharines Public Library. The sign is made from the portico of the old (long since demolished) public library. This signs has been partially covered by nearby shrubs for many years, until recently. Coincidence? HA! I feel a sudden surge of power! Perhaps I need to step inside the library and research Narcissus. Or just get a "selfie stick". |
