Description
Español: La relación de la Casa de Mendoza con la Capilla de la Virgen de la Antigua parte de Ruy López de Mendoça, caballero de Fernando III de Castilla, enterrado en ésta. Íñigo López de Mendoza y Quiñones, encarga en Génova a Domenico di Alessandro Fancelli, el sepulcro de su hermano en mármol de Carrara (1509). Sorprendentemente, un arco triunfal encuadra al arzobispo vestido de pontifical, rodeado de los atributos nuevos, del nuevo hombre renacentista. Es la innovación de la escultura funeraria.
