English: The Ashton Frost engine at Mill Meece Pumping Station. This view shows the engine's trunk guide and crosshead. In the foreground are three vertical rocker arms connecting the eccentric rods to the valve rods. To the left is the governor column. Behind these is the massive trunk guide casting, inside which, between the rockers and governor, the crosshead and gudgeon pin can be seen. They form the connection between the piston rod and the connecting rod. |
