| Description |
The Asiana 747 Combi is being serviced to prepare for its return to Seoul. In the distance there is a South African Airways tail visible. As members of Star Alliance, Asiana and South African coordinate their services here in Hong Kong for a through service between Seoul and Johannesburg; no other direct air links exist between the two cities. Asiana 722 will carry the Seoul-bound South African passengers, and the evening Asiana flight into Hong Kong, 723, will bring in the passengers heading for Johannesburg. This aircraft was converted to a freighter in 2010. On 28 July 2011, for a few hours it had been incorrectly reported that this aircraft had crashed due to an onboard fire while on a scheduled flight to Shanghai; the aircraft that crashed was HL7604, a newer dedicated freighter, instead.
