Description
English: One of several pictures taken of the Scaenae frons, the elaborately decorated permanent architectural background of a Roman theatre stage. Pictures were taken during several visits, some years apart, and in different seasons. Though highly decorated in its details, many elements that would have adorned the scenae like statues have disappeared.
