| Description |
English: Aston Lock on the Trent and Mersey Canal, Derbyshire. Lock No 3 on the Trent and Mersey Canal drops the water level by 8ft 1in (about 2.5 metres). It is the third of six wide locks between Derwent Mouth and Stenson. Two seven foot beam boats can use the locks side by side, but the restriction on wide beam boats is ten feet because of other constraints in the canal. Bridge No 6 was probably originally for farm use, but most of the land to the east (right) is now flooded gravel pits. |
