Description
English: Atlas historique, ou Nouvelle Introduction à l'Histoire, à la Chronologie et à la Géographie ancienne et moderne, by Henri Chatelain, 7 volumes, dated 1714-1720. The text was compiled by Nicholas Gueudeville and Garillon with a supplement by H. P. de Limiers and the maps were engraved by Chatelain, primarily after maps by Guillaume de l'Isle. The maps are accompanied by information pertaining to cosmography, geography, history, chronology, genealogy, topography, heraldry, and costumes of the world. Volumes are bound in brown leather covers with gold-embossed on spine. First published in 1705 in Amsterdam by L'Honoré & Chatelain Libraires, it was one of the most expansive Dutch encyclopedias of the age.

Le texte a été compilé par Nicholas Gueudeville et Garillon avec un supplément par H. P. de Limiers et les cartes ont été gravées par Chatelain, principalement d'après des cartes de Guillaume de l'Isle.
