Note of the muséum : This painting is the presumed work of Kang Se-hwang according to the seals indicating « Pyo-ong » (the artist’s pen name) and « samsegi-yeong » (the commemorative seal for three successive generations of the Kang family’s paritipation in Giroso, the association for senior high-ranking public officials in the Joseon dynasty). The title poem on the right, evoking the Chinese poet, Tao Yuanming, who floated chrysanthemum petals in his liquor, is intended to enrich the poetic sense of the scene.
