The A7 is Audi's entry into this new niche of luxury 4 door coupes/sportbacks that got its start with the Mercedes CLS during the last decade. I'm not sure how I feel about it. The A7 is a good looking car (better than the current CLS, IMO), but I've never been a great fan of this new body style. Either give me an outright hatchback or a plain sedan - this sort of in-between sort of leaves me uneasy. That being said, there's a reason so many of Europe's luxury marques are coming out with these right now: they're the current "hot" thing (along with the seemingly never-ending money-train that is the crossover). I wonder how long this particular style will remain desirable to the buying public: will it be with us in the long-term, like the crossover, or will it die out in a decade? We'll see. |
