I was pleased to be invited by the Kingwood Tea Party to its August 19, 2013 Constitution Day Celebration at the Kingwood Civic Center. These functions of KWTP are often opportunities to meet some interesting people, hear some interesting views, and photograph some interesting politicians, like Ted Poe, Rick Perry and Ted Cruz.

The occasion was a Constitution Day celebration but a lot of folks looked unhappy, grim almost, dissatisfied definitely.

A few national elections ago, a lot of folks who hadn't participated in movements or who had, but had been dissatisfied with those movments decided that they needed a new movement. The product was the national tea party movement.

At first, they were all happy with the movement, found that just having a movement was satisfying.

A lot of politicians, like Ted Poe, John Cornyn, and Rick Perry who hadn't been there at the start of the movement wanted to support the movement, be active in the movement, be supported by the movement. If you consider Poe, Cornyn and Perry these days, they certainly look like products of the movement.

Then there are the direct products of the movement, folks like Ted Cruz, The movement put them where they are.

But the movement is beginning to be less than satisfactory for many. Not everyone is thrilled with the products of the movement and there are plenty of folks who never thought the movement was a good thing.
