| Description |
<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Province_House_(Prince_Edward_Island)">Province House</a>, built in 1847, and the home of the <a href="http://www.assembly.pe.ca/">Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island</a>. In 1864, Province House helped host the first of the meetings that eventually led to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Confederation">Canadian Confederation</a>. (Although the other four colonies formed a union in 1867 - interestingly enough, PEI itself held out until 1873.) Right now the <a href="http://www.pc.gc.ca/index_E.asp">Parks Canada</a> actors are busy reenacting certain events in period costume. It's a little cheesy, because they're actually just lipsynching to a recording, and sometimes the wrong actor's mouth is moving. |
