Australian Airfield Defence Guard patrols the deserted Loung Tri Strip, outside Phan Rang Air Base

Summary edit

Description
English: An Airfield Defence Guard (ADG) patrol, comprising of four unidentified men of possibly No 2 Squadron, moving through the deserted Loung Tri Strip, just outside one of the gates to the Phan Rang air base. In undertaking such activities, the Australian ADG’s became the only force at Phan Rang which operated beyond the safety of the perimeter. This mainly reflected the fact that they were the only personnel on the base trained exclusively for airfield defence. A short time later not long before enemy forces entered and levelled the settlement with explosive charges.
