Description
English: Australian soldiers drag away the bodies of eleven dead Viet Cong (VC) killed the night before in an ambush. A party of 50 local force enemy were engaged by a force of Armour Infantry and Engineers just outside the abandoned village 15 miles northeast of the 1st Australian task Force base at Nui Dat in Phuoc Tuy province. Identified personnel include from left to right: 1202045 Private (Pte) David Halliday Simpson, 218527 Pte Richard "Barney" Bigwood: 175509 Pte Dennis Noel Manski (holding a camera);unknown.
