Description

I was taken back when I saw all the colours in the church, I did not care to much for it as it obstructed many details.

Light projections were added to the already existing coloured lights that came from outside, through the colored glass windows of the cathedral.

Statue is Catharine of Alexandria. It is said she convinced the Roman emperor's 50 smartest philosophers when confronted on her Christian views.

The stone pulpit is a masterwork of late Gothic sculpture.

St. Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansdom) is the most important Catholic Church in Vienna. It has a multi-colored tile roof with a diamond pattern and two tall towers. It is the most recognizable symbol of the city.

The church was dedicated to St. Stephen, who was also the patron of the bishop’s cathedral in Passau. The church was oriented toward the sunrise on his feast day of 26 December, as the position stood in the year that construction began.
