Description

Chaque famille paranakan (les chinois des détroits dans la région de Singapour) honorait une divinité dans sa maison, ici l'autel reconstitué pour l'exposition Baba Bling est consacré à Guan-Yin, 觀音, Quan Âm. Il comprend au fond la statuette de la divinité, un ensemble de vaisselle utilisée pour les offrandes de nourriture, deux lampes à huile, un chien-nab (chanab) en bois laqué constitué d'un plateau à offrandes, avec couvercle, sur un socle sculpté et doré.
