Summary edit

Description
English: Automated Weaving A member of the Science Museum staff demonstrates a Japanese cotton loom. In the factory these machines would run continuously with workers restocking the bobbins in the cassette at the right hand end of the machine as they ran out. The ear-defenders are a must, but probably weren't when this machine was in daily use. info regards the Science Museum and its exhibits can be found at http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk
