Summary edit

Description

Our biologists recently ear-tagged these adorable 3-4-week-old kittens as part of our nearly 20-year-long study of how urbanization has affected bobcats in the Santa Monica Mountains and surrounding area. We've been tracking the mom, B255, since 2010 and tagged her kittens while she was away from the den.

B327 with her ear tags in place. We don't place GPS collars on kittens this young, so the ear tags help identify the cats when we get remote camera images of them. We can also track them via the mom's GPS collar, although we can't be certain that the kittens are still alive and well without images or other documentation.
