English: U.S. MACHINE GUN BROWNING MODEL 1919A1 .30 SN# 281221
Manufactured by New England Westinghouse, Springfield, Ma. - Modified M1919 Tank MG. Tank sight removed replaced with flip type sight. Weapon equipped with an 18-inch heavy barrel instead of the standard 24-inch barrel. This resulted in a reduction of about 200 feet per second in the muzzle velocity, materially decreasing its armor piercing ability. Fitted with small tripod and could be packed on a saddle for transport. Cycle rate of fire 600 rpm. Shoulder stock missing otherwise complete and in good condition. |
