| Description |
English: A British Rail standard ferry van. These were introduced in the 1960s to carry goods between Britain and Europe over the train ferries at Harwich and Dover. Much larger than typical British wagons of the time, they were dual braked with both vacuum (behind the left buffer) and air (beside the right buffer) pipes. They had convetional screw couplings but continental standard buffers and brackets along the underframe to allow them to be chained down when on a ferry. It is preserved by the Diesel & Electric preservation Group at Williton in Somerset. |
