Description

עברית: בשטח פארק יער שוהם התגלו שרידים ליישובים מתקופת המשנה ומתקופת התלמוד ומספר מערות קדומות. במרכזו נמצאים שרידיה של "חורבת תנשמת" שבה נחשפו שרידי כנסיית בכחוס מההתקופה הביזנטית. הכנסייה נחשפה בשנת 1995 במהלך חפירות הצלה, והיא מתוארכת למאה ה-4. שטחה כ-100 מ"ר והיא מחולקת לשלוש סטראות על ידי שישה עמודים. בכנסייה נמצאו ריצפת פסיפס בצבעי שחור, לבן, אדום וכתום, וכתובת ביוונית לאמור "של בכחוס הקדוש", אשר הקנתה לכנסייה את שמה. ליד הכנסייה נמצאו בית בד ובריכת מים.
