| Description |
English: Back of Kimmeridge Bay Looking towards The Flats wave-cut platform below the oil well on top of the cliffs. The boulders in the foreground are composed of dolomite from the Washing Ledge double-band, visible as a yellow bed nearer the top of the cliffs behind The Flats. There is a fault in the cliff, to the left of centre above the red warning sign. The Flats dolomite bed is lifted up a few metres above sea level - dipping to the left with the anticline; the Washing Ledge dolomite bed is not present to the left of the fault, having been eroded away. The family on The Flats are looking at ammonite fossils in the dolomite bed. |
