Notes Attribution by Max Jakob Friedländer in 1942. Strong influences of Rembrandt visible in technique (leaves) and in people depicted, the effigy of Bacchus is grotesque, his partner is undoubtedly Ariadne, the princess of Crete abandoned while asleep by Theseus on the Isle of Dia (Naxos).
