English: The famous Bageshwari temple of Bhagwati is located in Bageshwari tol, ward no. 2 of Nepalgunj sub-municipality, the district headquarters of Banke district. In the sanctum sanctorum of this temple there is a beautiful idol of the powerless and lioness Bhagwati. These goddesses are associated with Tripurasundari. These goddesses are considered as Bageshwari, meaning the presiding deity of speech. It is estimated to have been established before 1320 BCE. There is a hole below the surface of the temple. Which is also called goof. This place is called the place where the tongue of Sati Devi is spoken. This is the reason why these goddesses are considered as Shaktipith. In the Devyakpavach of Durga Saptashati, it is mentioned that Romkapeshu Rakaimari skin Vagishwari and. When the tongue fell, the earth could not hold it, and there was a hole in the ground just below the statue. Inside this temple, which is very sacred and famous from religious point of view, there is a white silver idol of lioness Bhagwati. The area of this temple is very wide. There are idols of various deities like Shanidev, Nag, Bhairav, Kali Singh and other temples in the temple premises. To the west of the temple are Hanumandhi, Radhakrishna temple to the south and Mahakali temple and Harshakirti Mahavihar Buddha temple to the northwest. The temple is believed to have been established about four hundred years ago by a Siddhi Yogi. Devotees pierce their tongues and cut their tongues and offer them to the Goddess for the sake of speech and attainment of a son. This temple is always crowded with devotees. Especially on the great festival of Nepalis, Bijayadashami, there is a huge crowd of devotees. Guthi has also been arranged for the management of this temple. Nitya Puja Archana is always performed in this temple by the priests of Nath sect.
