Deutsch: This is a photograph of an architectural monument. It is on the list of cultural monuments of Glückstadt, no. 28735. Bahnhofsgebäude Glückstadt - Baujahr 1938 - Foto 2019 – Das 1938 errichtete Gebäude ist bereits das dritte Bahnhofgebäude in Glückstadt. Der erste Bahnhof entstand als Kopfbahnhof an der Hafenwurzel in gradliniger Verlängerung der Strecke von Elmshorn. Er war von 1845 bis 1857 der Endbahnhof der neu gebauten Strecke Elmshorn-Glückstadt. – Als die Bahnlinie 1857 nach Itzehoe verlängert wurde, hat man die Bahntrasse östlich an der Altstadt vorbeigeführt und einen neuen Bahnhof bei den Festungsanlagen errichtet. Das erste Bahnhofsgebäude dort stand von 1857 bis 1938. Eine Holzgaststätte, der sog. Anlagenpavillion, wurde in die Bahnhofanlagen integriert. – Nach dem Bau der Kaserne 1935/37 reichte das kleine Empfangsgebäude für das gestiegene Fahrgastaufkommen nicht mehr aus. Nach dessen Abriss entstand 1938 das heutige Backsteingebäude an der Stelle des ehemaligen Anlagenpavillions. Beim Abriss hatte man Platz für einen großzügigen Vorplatz gewonnen. – Die Nutzung des Empfangsgebäudes für den Bahnverkehr wurde in den 1980er Jahren nach und nach aufgegeben. 2012 erfolgte der Verkauf des Gebäudes.
