English: Bailey bridge between St Lucia and Lisanally Camp. This structure was erected by the army over the Strule river to connect the two adjacent barracks. It was deemed to be better to connect them directly rather than take vehicles along the Derry Road, Sedan Avenue and Mountjoy Road. Bailey bridges are given a rating to indicate what they were capable of carrying. |
