Description
English: Bajrabarahi temple located in the dense forest on the border of Chapagaun and Jharuwawasi in Godavari municipality of Lalitpur district. This place is also called Bajrabarahi by the locals. The roof of this pagoda style temple is made of copper. There is no Gajur in this temple and this is the specialty of this temple. There is also a reason for not passing. The idols of Goddess Ashta Matrika, Ganesh, Bhairav and Kumar are also placed on the right and left sides of the idol. This temple has a very artistic style. It is adorned with original artwork. There are many idols of gods and goddesses in the premises of this temple. There is also a brass mandapa in front of the temple door.

Bajrabarahi is considered to be one of the major Barahis in the valley like Nilbarahi, Dhumbarahi, Bajrabarahi and Shweta Barahi. On Saturdays and special festivals, Bhagwati is adorned with jewels. The establishment of this temple is estimated to have taken place at a time when the Bajrayana sect was more influential in the valley, i.e. the Bajrayani deity was worshiped as a female power from the ninth to the twelfth century. According to the genealogy, the temple was built by Shri Niwas Malla in 786 BS and the temple was revived by Vishnu Malla in 825 BS. In this temple, on the day of Chaitra Shukla Punirma, Goddess Bajrabarahi is kept in the mandapa from the courtyard of the house, specially worshiped and placed in the khata. There is a tradition of worship by other devotees only after the worship is performed by the guthiyars and sacrifices are also offered on the same day. After that, the goddess is brought to Tayaganal and adorned with garlands and worshiped by the priests. Every year, the day of the eldest Krishna Dashami is considered as the birthday of Bajrabarahi and special worship is performed on that day and there is a tradition of offering sacrifices on that day. Jatra is also celebrated on the same day. There is also a tradition of worshiping in secret while worshiping here. Government worship is also performed on the day of Chaitrashukla Punirma. At the same time, there is also a procession on the tenth day of the big Dashain festival. Devotees throng this temple especially on Saturdays and on the day of the great festival of Nepalis, Vijaya Dashami. Devotees have to stand in line for hours to worship the goddess.

Devotees come here in times of crisis to pray for forgiveness. There is a belief that worshiping and worshiping these Bajrabarahi deities will solve any crisis and fulfill one's desires. This Bajrabarahi Bhagwati is highly regarded by the devotees. The temple of Bajrabarahi is one of the famous temples of Nepal.
