English: February 25, 2019 (Bishkek) – On February 25, the Senior Bureau Official in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, Ambassador Alice G. Wells, and the Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, Baktygul Jeenbaeva, announced the repatriation of stolen assets to the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic arising from the corruption and theft of government funds by the prior regime of Kurmanbek Bakiyev and his son Maxim Bakiyev. |
