Summary
editDescriptionBali, Rice fields and forest, East Bali, Indonesia.jpg |
English: Valleys of rice fields on rich volcanic soil are interspersed with lofty old-growth forest on the northeastern slopes of Mount Lempuyang/Seraya in Bali. Mount Lempuyang/Seraya looks like an extinct Pleistocene volcano with a heavily eroded, overgrown caldera of fractured ridges. Amed and Lempuyang remain a backwater with the charm and ambience of old Bali. Lempuyang's broad northern slopes, with their terraced rice fields and small villages offer a glimpse of traditional Balinese society of the early 20th century. East Bali, Indonesia.
