Summary edit

Description
English: Ballochbuie Forest The Ballochbuie Forest was bought in 1878 by Queen Victoria from Colonel Farquharson of Invercauld to prevent it being felled. It is still part of the Balmoral Estate and it is now managed solely for conservation with minimum disturbance from people. It is one of the largest continuous areas of Caledonian forest in Scotland and it is home to a range of woodland bird species. Some of the oldest examples of Scots Pine found in the UK are here.
