日本語: バナナの荷造。バナナの販賣は內地向は總て生產者の組織する臺灣青果株式會社を經るが共他朝鮮、大連、天津、上海及福州の指定問屋へも直送する。右の會社は東京、橫濱、名古屋、京都、大阪、神戸、下關、門司、函館及札幌の十ヶ所に存する荷受組合をして下請せしめるが臺灣では會社に直屬する青果同業組合が臺中、臺南、高雄の各州にあり各組合が數多の檢査所を有し，其所で上圖の如く特等、一等、二等、三等及等外の五等級を分ち，仕向地別に荷造包裝して發途する。臺中市にある市場はその最大のもので山なすバナナを機敏に荷造りする有樣は他では見られない光景である，下圖は檢査所に於けるその籠詰の狀況で夫々七十五斤入の籠に詰めるのである。之が內地の荷受組合に到着すると直ちに糶賣をなし，檢査所の入荷から少くも二週間以內に入金出來る樣になつて居る。海外方面は買付又は委托の方法でやはり同業組合が直接販賣の幹旋に當つて居る。かくして每年二億五千萬斤のバナナが市場に現はるるのである。（田中長三郎，臺北帝國大學理農學部教授；理學博士）
