| Description |
English: Stock certificate of the Bank of Australia for £100, issued on 1 July 1833, printed on parchment. As directors, personalities of Australia's founding era signed this paper with their own hands: Co-founder of the bank and lawyer Alexander Brodie Spark (1792-1856); director of important Sydney companies, merchant and land agent Thomas Shadforth (1797-1862); merchant, director of numerous companies and promoter of steam navigation John Edye Manning (1807-1889); lawyer and politician James Northon (1795-1862). The share is issued to former soldier Thomas de la Condamine (1797 - 1873), after whom the Condamine River was named in 1827. He was a former aide-de-camp to Governor Ralph Darling who became the colony's first Collector of Internal Revenue. In 1843 he lost his fortune in the financial collapse of 1843 as a shareholder in the Bank of Australia.

Die Aktie ist ausgestellt auf den ehemaligen Soldaten Thomas de la Condamine (1797 - 1873), nach welchem 1827 der Condamine-River benannt wurde. Er war ein ehemaliger Adjutant von Gouverneur Ralph Darling, der erster Steuereinnehmer der Kolonie wurde. Als Anteilseigner der Bank of Australia verlor er beim Finanzkollaps von 1843 sein Vermögen. |
