| Description |
English: Bann Meadows, Portadown. The meadows, immediately west of the River Bann, have been identified as a potential development site for an Olympic watersports centre. The centre, if built, would have a 2km rowing and canoeing lake as well as a triathlon training facility and a white water canoe slalom course. This facility, were it to be provided, would attract athletes for training for the 2012 Olympics and of course a boost to the local economy should the Olympic competitions for these disciplines actually come to Portadown. See 925652 |
