Description President Barack Obama talks with Gen. Carter Ham, Commanding General of U.S. Army Europe and recently confirmed by the Senate to be the new Commander of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), in the Oval Office, Feb. 14, 2011. Gen. Ham, who was visiting the White House for AFRICOM-related meetings with National Security Council staff, also served as co-chair of the Pentagon's Comprehensive Review Working Group, which produced the 2010 internal report on military attitudes towards gay and lesbian troops.
