Description Ces ponts sont situés à l'extrémité de la Petite France. Ils étaient à l'origine recouverts d'un toit de tuile, d'où leur nom. Leur construction date du XIIIème siècle et fut motivée par des risques de surpopulation qui entraînèrent l'agrandissement de la ville. Les toitures en bois étaient destinées à protéger la ville des attaques extérieures, comme en témoignent les quatre tours du XIIIème siècle qui encadrent les ponts, vestiges d'anciennes fortifications. Après la construction du barrage Vauban, ils furent rendus à la vie civile et reconstruits complètement en pierre.
