Español: Barrio Chuquicamata comienza a conformarse como barrio en la década de los 70’ con la llegada de familias de trabajadores de las grúas de Codelco ubicadas en la ciudad de Antofagasta. Este barrio se emplaza en el corazón de la ciudad, conectándose con diferentes servicios y comercio.
La única pasarela de la ciudad se encuentra en este territorio, permitiendo la conectividad aún cuando la vía férrea separa al barrio del sector oriente de la ciudad. Otra de las características de este Barrio son las Torres Codelco: 2 edificios de 17 pisos, que se imponen a pasos de una de las avenidas estructurantes de la capital regional. |
