Description
English: Built by Sheikh Mohammed bin Jassim Al Thani in the 19th Century, the Barzan Towers were basically designed as the watchtowers. The motive behind building this spectacular heritage in Qatar was to guard the estate from Ottoman soldiers. The Barzan towers were also used to track the movement of the moon to mark the beginning of Holy Ramadan Month.
